"I was once just an ordinary girl living in a small village in Devon, looking out my bedroom window daydreaming about fulfilling my dreams of becoming a singer." Sydney Monroe is the new Country artist everyone is talking about, as she takes Country Music to whole new level.A beautiful and talented musician who came out of nowhere, smashing the UK charts with one of her songs from her new album 'The Parts That Still Remain'. The speed of her rising to fame and becoming a phenomenon is astonishing.
Sydney Monroe was born on January 9, 1996 in Torcross, Devon. In 2002, her loving father passed away due to lung cancer. From this point onward, Sydney started to write her own songs dedicating every piece she wrote to her father. "My dad was the foundation of my love for Country Music as he introduced his passion in Country Music in the early years of my life." It was such a privilege to hear those words from her in person as she says it with sincerity. I mention how successful she has become within this year and she laughs and replies humbly. "Haha, thank you so much! I believe that my success is due to my hard work and determination. I am so grateful for what I have achieved so far and I am looking forward to making more music to inspire others out there that might have experienced something similar to me, loosing someone close to their heart." It surprises me as the nineteen year old speaks with such emotion and everything she says is inspiring to listen to.
As she is only nineteen, I ask what she does in her free time. "I hardly get any free time due to my busy schedule, but when I do find some free time I spend it wisely. I try get in contact and spend quality time with my family as they make me feel like a normal person and it gives me time to take a break from the fame and have some downtime with my family. Apart from obviously writing songs and singing, I love reading as it helps me relax and unwind. The most frequent thing I do whenever I have free time is read tweets from all my fans, as reading positive comments makes my day and helps me to continue in pushing through hard times. My fans are the source of my happiness and contribute to the reason why I am so successful right now because without them I wouldn't be where I am right now. I am so thankful that I have such an amazing fan base as they never fail to support me and play a big part of my journey in the Music Industry. I am amazed with how many fans I have as Country Music isn't as popular as other genres but I am so happy that people appreciate my music as most of my songs are based around this particular genre.
With the amount of competition in the Music industry, I ask if she has ever felt as if this has affected her career. "To be honest with you, I know that there is so much competition in the Music Industry today but I try not to let this affect me. With Country Music being disfavoured I try my best to bring Country Music back to life. I just make sure to do what I love and to always remember to sing from the heart as this is what my dad told me to do before he passed away.
Finally, i ask if she has any upcoming events anytime soon. "Well.. I don't have any major events this year other than releasing a new single. However, I do have an upcoming concert next year May 2016 at the O2 Arena. The concert is called 'Out Among The Stars' and I dedicate this concert especially for my dad. I'm so excited and I hope to see all my amazing fans there, I love you all!"
